Bio

Amadeo Espina was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1987. He studied at the Conservatorio Ciudad de Buenos Aires with Prof. Abraham Buchalter and Prof. Daniel Robuschi. Between 2007 and 2009, he was a member of the National Symphony Orchestra of Argentina. In 2009, he received a scholarship from the National Arts Fund of Argentina and won third prize in the Tomás-Tichauer Violin Competition, where he performed as a finalist as a soloist with the Camerata Bariloche orchestra in the National Radio of Argentina.
After completing his bachelor’s degree in Argentina, he went to Frankfurt in 2010 and studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts with Prof. Priya Mitchel and Prof. Sophia Jaffé. He received a scholarship from the DAAD and played in the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie and Lucerne Academy Orchestra under Pierre Boulez. He received further artistic impulses at various master classes with, among others, Glenn Dikterow, Kees Hülsmann, Daniel Rowland, and Fernando Hasaj.
He is a member of the Kammerphilharmonie Frankfurt and has played in numerous orchestras, including the Lucerne Contemporary Orchestra, the Philharmonic State Orchestra of Mainz, the Philharmonic Orchestra of the City of Trier, and the Orchestre Musique des Lumières.
With the support of the German Music Council and the Hessische Kulturstiftung, he recorded solo violin pieces by composers Jacobo Fisher, Diana Nachtigall, and Luciano Jungman in 2021 and 2022.
In addition to classical music, he is interested in tango. In Argentina, he performed with Orquesta El Arranque. Since 2011, he has performed with various ensembles, such as the Silencio Tango Orchestra, Quinteto Luciano Jungman and Quinteto Ángel, among others, at the Alte Oper Frankfurt, Demenga Musikfestival, Konzerthaus Berlin, National Philharmonic Warsaw, and La Seine Musicale. He has been a teacher at various workshops on the violin in tango, including at the Musik-Akademie Basel.
